About Hand Disinfectant :-
A hand disinfectant has been in use since ages, and is a great supportive product depicting ‘precaution is better than cure’. It is extensively used to protect ourselves against germs, bacteria and viruses. In order to avoid any transfer of those microorganisms from our hands into our bodies, we make sure to wash our hands. Some uses soap and water to wash their hands, but at times of pandemic coronavirus outbreak, we need to ensure 100% germs are killed. That is why a hand disinfectant is necessary to eliminate infectious agents which come in contact with our hands.
However, there are two types of hand disinfectant i.e., alcohol-based and alcohol-free. Alcohol-based types contain 60-95% of different alcohols like ethanol, n-propanol or isopropyl alcohol, whereas alcohol-free types contain benzalkonium chloride instead of alcohol. Alcohol-based types are proven to be more effective than other type as they are responsible for killing at least 90% or more of microorganisms.
